Where to Stay in Pattaya: Areas We Actually Loved
One thing we realized very quickly in Pattaya is that where you stay completely changes the kind of trip you end up having.
At first, Pattaya can feel overwhelming because every area has a different personality. Some parts are lively and energetic until 3 AM, while others feel surprisingly calm with quiet beaches, cafés, and oceanfront resorts. After spending time exploring different sides of the city, we honestly understood why travelers have completely different opinions about Pattaya — because most of them are experiencing entirely different areas.
At Travey Club, we always believe your hotel should match your travel style, not just your budget. So instead of simply listing “best hotels,” we wanted to share the areas that genuinely stood out to us and the hotels we personally think fit each location best.
Here’s how we’d break it down after experiencing Pattaya ourselves.
Central Pattaya — Best for First-Time Visitors

If it’s your first time in Pattaya, Central Pattaya honestly makes life the easiest.
Everything feels close here — shopping malls, restaurants, beach access, cafés, nightlife, massage places, and transport. We stayed around this area initially because we wanted convenience, and looking back, it was the right decision for a short trip.
The atmosphere is energetic almost all day, but not necessarily chaotic. You can spend the morning at the beach, walk to dinner at night, and still have shopping or nightlife nearby without needing long taxi rides.
It’s the kind of area where you can step out of your hotel and immediately feel like you’re “in Pattaya.”
Hotel We Recommend:
This hotel completely surprised us.
The biggest highlight isn’t just the luxury — it’s the location and the ocean views. The hotel sits above Central Festival Mall, so you’re connected to shopping, cafés, restaurants, and the beach all at once.
But the real moment happens when you walk into the room and see the sea view stretching across Pattaya Bay.
The infinity pool overlooking the ocean also became one of our favorite spots to unwind after long days outside.
Perfect for:
- First-time visitors
- Couples
- Luxury travelers
- Travelers who want everything nearby
Pratumnak Hill — Best for a Relaxed & Scenic Stay

Pratumnak felt completely different from Central Pattaya.
The roads are quieter, the cafés are calmer, and the atmosphere feels more residential and peaceful. We ended up spending a lot more time here than expected because it never felt overly crowded.
This area sits between Pattaya and Jomtien, which makes it ideal if you want balance — close enough to nightlife when you want it, but quiet enough to actually relax.
Some of Pattaya’s best sunset cafés and viewpoints are also located here, which gives the area a much more laid-back feel.
Hotel We Recommend:
InterContinental Pattaya Resort by IHG
This place feels more like a tropical retreat than a city hotel.
The property is surrounded by greenery, the pools feel private, and many parts of the resort overlook the sea. It’s one of those hotels where you genuinely feel disconnected from the busy parts of Pattaya even though you’re still nearby.
We especially loved how peaceful the evenings felt here compared to central areas.
Perfect for:
- Honeymoon trips
- Couples
- Relaxed luxury stays
- Travelers avoiding crowded nightlife zones
Jomtien Beach — Best for a Slower, Local Feel

Jomtien was honestly one of the biggest surprises for us.
Compared to Pattaya Beach, this area feels slower, cleaner, and much more relaxed. The crowds are lighter, the beach feels longer, and evenings are noticeably calmer.
You’ll still find cafés, seafood restaurants, massage shops, and beach bars here, but without the constant noise and movement of central Pattaya.
This is the kind of area where mornings feel peaceful and sunset walks become part of your routine.
Hotel We Recommend:
This hotel perfectly matches the vibe of Jomtien itself.
It’s modern, stylish, relaxed, and positioned very close to the beach. What we liked most was that it felt comfortable without trying too hard to feel luxurious.
The rooftop pool is also a great place to unwind during sunset hours.
Perfect for:
- Families
- Long stays
- Digital nomads
- Travelers wanting quieter beaches
North Pattaya / Wongamat — Best for Premium Beachfront Luxury

Wongamat feels like Pattaya’s more polished and upscale side.
The beaches here are cleaner, the hotels feel more private, and the entire atmosphere is noticeably more refined. We noticed far fewer crowds compared to Pattaya Beach, which made the area feel more exclusive.
Even the beachfront restaurants and cafés here have a calmer, more premium feel.
If you want Pattaya without the chaos people often associate with it, this area changes your perception completely.
Hotel We Recommend:
Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort
This resort feels massive in the best possible way.
It’s especially known for its beachfront setting and huge waterpark-style pools, but what stood out most to us was how self-contained the experience felt. You could easily spend an entire day inside the property without getting bored.
The beachfront access here is also much nicer than central Pattaya beaches.
Perfect for:
- Families
- Resort-focused vacations
- Luxury beach stays
- Travelers wanting quieter surroundings
Na Jomtien — Best for Hidden Escape Vibes

Na Jomtien feels like the side of Pattaya people discover later and wish they knew earlier.
The atmosphere becomes quieter, greener, and much less commercialized. Many of the beachfront restaurants here feel more intimate, and the pace of life slows down noticeably.
This area worked best for us whenever we wanted to escape the busier tourist zones for a while.
It doesn’t feel disconnected from Pattaya — it just feels calmer.
Hotel We Recommend:
Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa
This hotel has a very clean, modern luxury feel without becoming overly formal.
The beachfront setting is peaceful, the pools are beautiful, and the entire property feels ideal for slower mornings and relaxed evenings.
It’s one of those hotels where you naturally spend more time enjoying the property itself rather than constantly going out.
Perfect for:
- Couples
- Relaxing vacations
- Resort stays
- Travelers looking for quieter luxury
Final Thoughts from Travey Club
After exploring Pattaya properly, we realized there isn’t one “best area” to stay — it completely depends on the kind of trip you want.
If you want energy, nightlife, and convenience, Central Pattaya makes sense.
If you want sunsets, cafés, and quieter evenings, Pratumnak or Jomtien feel far better.
And if you simply want a beachfront resort experience away from crowds, Wongamat and Na Jomtien genuinely change the way Pattaya feels.
Our biggest advice?
Don’t just choose the cheapest hotel or the most famous one. Choose the area that matches the kind of memories you actually want from the trip.
