Three Days in Vancouver: A Signature Itinerary for First-Time Visitors
Some cities impress you with a handful of famous landmarks. Vancouver does something different. It wins you over through contrast. One hour you're cycling beside the ocean, the next you're walking through a rainforest, and by evening you're dining on world-class seafood overlooking the harbour. Few places blend nature and city life as effortlessly as Vancouver.
At Travey Club, we believe three days is enough to experience the city's character—if you spend your time in the right places and let each day unfold naturally. This itinerary is designed for first-time visitors who want to experience Vancouver's iconic sights while leaving room to appreciate the atmosphere that makes the city so memorable.
Day 1 – Vancouver's Waterfront and Stanley Park

Your first day is all about discovering why Vancouver is consistently ranked among the world's most liveable cities.
Start the morning with a relaxed breakfast before making your way to Coal Harbour, where seaplanes glide across Burrard Inlet against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. From here, rent a bicycle and begin one of Vancouver's signature experiences—the Stanley Park Seawall.
The ride takes you through towering cedar forests, alongside rugged coastlines, past Indigenous Totem Poles, Brockton Point Lighthouse and some of the city's finest viewpoints. Every section feels different, which is exactly what makes the Seawall so special.
After lunch overlooking English Bay at The Teahouse, return to your hotel for a short break before heading into Gastown.
As evening approaches, the historic district comes alive. Wander the cobbled streets, admire the famous Steam Clock, browse independent boutiques and enjoy the neighbourhood's relaxed atmosphere before finishing the day with dinner at Miku, where Vancouver's famous Aburi sushi offers the perfect introduction to the city's exceptional seafood.
A leisurely waterfront walk back towards your hotel provides the perfect ending to your first day.
Day 2 – Rainforest, Mountains and Indigenous Culture

The second day showcases the natural landscapes that make Vancouver unlike any other major city.
Begin by crossing into North Vancouver to visit Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Walking high above the Capilano River, surrounded by towering evergreens, immediately immerses you in British Columbia's rainforest environment.
Continue through the Treetops Adventure and Cliffwalk before enjoying lunch surrounded by forest at the Cliff House Restaurant.
From there, head to Grouse Mountain, where the gondola climbs above the trees to reveal spectacular views stretching across downtown Vancouver, the Pacific Ocean and distant islands. Whether you're enjoying the mountain viewpoints, watching the resident grizzly bears or simply sitting with a coffee overlooking the city, it's one of the most rewarding experiences in Vancouver.
Back in the city, the evening takes a more cultural turn with dinner at Salmon n' Bannock, Canada's only Indigenous-owned restaurant dedicated entirely to First Nations cuisine. It's a meaningful way to connect with the region's history through its food.
Finish the day at Queen Elizabeth Park, where the skyline slowly lights up as the sun sets behind the North Shore Mountains. It's quieter than the waterfront and offers one of the city's most beautiful panoramic views.
Day 3 – Markets, Beaches and Local Vancouver

By your third day, it's time to experience the more relaxed side of Vancouver.
Walk through Yaletown towards False Creek, then board the colourful Aquabus across the water to Granville Island. Arriving by boat feels like part of the adventure, with marinas and waterfront cafés welcoming you into one of Vancouver's most creative neighbourhoods.
Spend the morning exploring the famous Public Market. Rather than sitting down for one large meal, sample your way through artisan bakeries, seafood counters, local cheeses, fresh pastries and handmade chocolates. It's one of the city's most enjoyable food experiences.
From Granville Island, continue to Kitsilano Beach, where the pace slows considerably. Sit beside the water, watch paddleboarders drift across English Bay and take in the skyline from one of Vancouver's favourite local beaches.
The afternoon is reserved for the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. Its remarkable collection of Indigenous art, monumental cedar carvings and Pacific Northwest history adds cultural depth to everything you've experienced over the previous two days.
Finish your Vancouver escape with dinner at Glowbal, celebrating the city with fresh West Coast seafood and contemporary Canadian cuisine before preparing for your onward journey.
Where Should You Stay?

For this three-day itinerary, we'd recommend staying in Downtown Vancouver, particularly around Coal Harbour or Yaletown.
Both neighbourhoods provide excellent access to almost everything included in this itinerary. Stanley Park, Gastown, Canada Place, False Creek, Granville Island and the city's best restaurants are all within easy reach, while Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain are straightforward to access by shuttle or taxi.
If your priority is spectacular waterfront views and a luxury stay, Coal Harbour is an outstanding choice. If you enjoy being surrounded by cafés, restaurants and a lively neighbourhood atmosphere, Yaletown offers a fantastic balance of convenience and character.
Our top recommendation for this itinerary is Fairmont Pacific Rim. Its location near Coal Harbour places you within walking distance of the waterfront, Stanley Park, Canada Place and many of Vancouver's signature experiences, while still providing easy access to the rest of the city. If you prefer a stylish boutique stay with a vibrant dining scene on your doorstep, OPUS Vancouver in Yaletown is an excellent alternative.
Travey Club Insights
The beauty of Vancouver isn't found in one famous attraction. It's found in the way each day naturally unfolds. A morning beside the ocean leads to an afternoon in a rainforest. A mountain viewpoint is followed by dinner celebrating Indigenous traditions. A colourful public market gives way to a peaceful beach before ending among world-class museums and waterfront restaurants.
That's what makes Vancouver special. It never asks you to choose between nature and city life because it offers both in equal measure.
At Travey Club, we think the best way to experience Vancouver is not by trying to see everything, but by allowing each neighbourhood to reveal a different side of the city. Three well-planned days are enough to understand why so many travellers leave wanting to return.
