The Perfect 3-Day Bodrum Itinerary: A Travey Club Signature Guide
Bodrum has a way of slowing you down without asking you to do less.
One moment you're walking through a medieval castle overlooking a harbour filled with yachts. An hour later you're swimming in a quiet bay before ending the evening with fresh seafood beside the water as the sun disappears behind the Aegean.
The secret to enjoying Bodrum isn't trying to visit every beach or every village. The peninsula is filled with beautiful places, but the best trips balance history, coastal scenery and time to simply enjoy where you are.
This three-day itinerary is how we'd introduce someone to Bodrum for the first time.
Where Should You Stay?

For this itinerary, we'd recommend Bitez.
Its central location makes it easy to reach Bodrum Town, Gümüşlük, Yalıkavak and Torba without spending too much time on the road. It also offers a quieter atmosphere than staying in the centre of Bodrum while still being only a short drive from the peninsula's major attractions.
Recommended Hotel: Doria Hotel Bodrum
Perched above Bitez Bay, Doria Hotel Bodrum provides beautiful sea views, boutique-style luxury and one of the most convenient locations for exploring the peninsula. After a day of sightseeing, it's the kind of hotel where returning for a swim or watching the sunset from the terrace becomes part of the holiday itself.
Day 1 – Discover Historic Bodrum

Start your morning in Bodrum Town, where the harbour comes alive with fishing boats, cafés and waterfront restaurants.
Your first stop should be Bodrum Castle, one of Turkey's most impressive coastal fortresses. Built by the Knights of St. John in the 15th century, it overlooks the marina and houses the fascinating Museum of Underwater Archaeology. Walking through its towers, gardens and ancient artefacts offers an excellent introduction to Bodrum's history.
After exploring the castle, wander through the narrow streets of the Old Town. Whitewashed houses draped in colourful bougainvillea, artisan shops and hidden courtyards create the relaxed atmosphere Bodrum is famous for.
Pause for lunch at one of the marina's seafood restaurants before continuing to the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Although only parts of the original structure remain today, the site still provides a fascinating glimpse into Bodrum's remarkable past.
As evening approaches, return to the harbour for dinner while the waterfront gradually fills with locals and visitors enjoying the cooler evening air.
Day 2 – Beaches, Villages and the Aegean Coast

Today is all about seeing why people return to Bodrum year after year.
Begin with a relaxed morning at Bitez Beach, where calm waters and a wide sandy shoreline make it easy to enjoy a few unhurried hours by the sea. Whether you choose to swim, paddleboard or simply enjoy breakfast overlooking the water, Bitez offers a gentler side of the peninsula.
From there, continue west to Gümüşlük, one of Bodrum's most charming fishing villages.
Instead of rushing through the village, take time to stroll along the waterfront, browse small art galleries and enjoy lunch beside the sea. The slower pace is part of its appeal.
In the afternoon, drive to Yalıkavak Marina. Luxury yachts, boutique shopping and elegant cafés give this part of Bodrum a completely different character. Even if you're not interested in shopping, it's a beautiful place to wander before settling into a waterfront café.
Finish the day with dinner overlooking the marina before returning to your hotel.
Day 3 – Adventure or Relaxation

Your final day can be shaped around your travel style.
If you enjoy outdoor adventures, join a Jeep Safari through the hills surrounding Bodrum. The route passes traditional villages, olive groves and panoramic viewpoints that many visitors never see.
For a slower pace, spend the morning on a traditional gulet boat cruise. These wooden sailing boats have become one of Bodrum's defining experiences, stopping at secluded bays where the clear turquoise water is perfect for swimming.
In the afternoon, visit Torba for a relaxed seaside lunch or return to your favourite beach before finishing the trip with one final sunset over the Aegean.
There's something fitting about ending a Bodrum holiday beside the water. It's where the peninsula feels most like itself.
Optional Experiences

If you have extra time, consider adding:
- A Turkish hammam experience
- Horse riding through pine forests
- A sunset sailing cruise
- Wine tasting at a local vineyard
- Scuba diving in Bodrum's clear waters
- A visit to Turgutreis or Ortakent
- Shopping at local artisan markets

Whether it's your first visit or a return to the Aegean coast, Bodrum has a way of making you slow down, linger a little longer and start thinking about your next trip before this one has even ended.
