What to Eat in Antalya, Türkiye
One thing we quickly realized in Antalya — the food scene deserves way more attention than it gets.
Before visiting, we expected kebabs and Turkish breakfasts (which were incredible), but what surprised us was how diverse the food culture felt. Because Antalya sits on the Mediterranean coast, meals here are lighter, fresher, and heavily influenced by seafood, olive oil dishes, herbs, and local produce.
Some of our best memories in Antalya honestly came from long dinners by the marina, lazy breakfasts near the coast, and small cafés hidden inside Kaleiçi’s old streets.
If you’re wondering what food is actually worth trying in Antalya, here’s what we personally loved — along with where we’d recommend eating each dish.
Try Traditional Turkish Breakfast (Kahvaltı)

Turkish breakfast isn’t just breakfast — it’s an entire experience.
The table keeps filling with small plates:
- cheeses
- olives
- eggs
- fresh bread
- jams
- tomatoes
- honey
- pastries
- endless Turkish tea
And somehow, you end up sitting there for two hours without noticing.
One of our favorite parts of mornings in Antalya was slowing down and starting the day properly instead of rushing through coffee and toast.
Where We Recommend:
The Big Man Lara
This spot had the perfect balance of:
- modern atmosphere
- quality coffee
- relaxed vibe
- generous breakfast portions
The outdoor seating in the morning made it even better.
What to order:
- Turkish breakfast platter
- Menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs)
- Fresh orange juice
- Turkish tea
Eat Fresh Mediterranean Seafood

Because Antalya sits directly on the Mediterranean coast, seafood here feels incredibly fresh.
One evening, we ordered grilled sea bass overlooking the marina while boats drifted across the harbor during sunset — and honestly, it ended up being one of the most memorable meals of the trip.
Seafood in Antalya is usually simple:
- grilled fish
- olive oil
- lemon
- fresh herbs
No unnecessary extras.
Where We Recommend:
Club Arma
The setting alone makes this place worth visiting.
Built beside the marina cliffs, Club Arma feels especially magical at night when the coastline lights up around the harbor.
What to order:
- Grilled sea bass
- Calamari
- Shrimp casserole
- Seafood meze platter
Try to reserve a table near the water around sunset if possible.
Don’t Leave Without Eating Turkish Meze

If there’s one thing we’d tell people to do in Türkiye:
Order meze and take your time.
Meze are small sharing plates that usually arrive before the main meal, and honestly, they often became the best part of dinner for us.
Some favorites:
- Haydari (yogurt dip)
- Eggplant salad
- Stuffed vine leaves
- Muhammara
- Fresh bread with olive oil
It’s the kind of food that naturally slows down the evening.
Where We Recommend:
7 Mehmet Restaurant
This is one of Antalya’s most iconic restaurants for a reason.
The food feels traditional without feeling overly touristy, and the view over the coastline makes the experience even better.
What to order:
- Mixed meze platter
- Lamb kebab
- Traditional Turkish desserts
This felt like one of the most authentic dining experiences we had in Antalya.
Try Pide — Türkiye’s Version of Pizza

Pide quickly became one of our favorite casual meals.
Imagine freshly baked flatbread topped with:
- cheese
- minced meat
- vegetables
- sucuk (Turkish sausage)
Then cooked in a stone oven until crispy around the edges.
It’s simple, comforting, and perfect after a long day exploring the city.
Where We Recommend:
Şişçi Ramazan
This spot feels much more local and less polished than some of the marina restaurants — which honestly made us enjoy it even more.
What to order:
- Cheese pide
- Minced meat pide
- Ayran (Turkish yogurt drink)
Perfect for a casual lunch or easy dinner.
Drink Turkish Coffee Properly

Turkish coffee isn’t something you rush.
One thing we loved in Antalya was how cafés naturally encouraged you to slow down. Nobody seemed in a hurry to leave, and coffee breaks often turned into long conversations.
The coffee itself is rich, thick, and strong — usually served with Turkish delight or chocolate on the side.
Where We Recommend:
Kahve Dünyası
Especially for travelers wanting a comfortable introduction to Turkish coffee culture.
What to order:
- Traditional Turkish coffee
- Pistachio chocolate
- Turkish desserts
It’s also a great afternoon break during shopping or after sightseeing.
Experience Modern Turkish Fine Dining

One thing Antalya does surprisingly well is modern Mediterranean dining.
Some restaurants blend Turkish flavors with international presentation in a way that still feels authentic instead of overly fancy.
Where We Recommend:
Asmani Restaurant (Akra Hotel Rooftop)
This was probably our favorite dinner setting in Antalya.
The rooftop views over the Mediterranean at night made the entire experience feel special without trying too hard.
What to order:
- Lamb dishes
- Grilled seafood
- Mediterranean appetizers
- Turkish wine
Come slightly before sunset if possible.
Save Room for Turkish Desserts

Turkish desserts are dangerous in the best way.
Baklava is the obvious choice, but we also loved:
- sütlaç (rice pudding)
- künefe
- pistachio desserts
- Turkish ice cream
And somehow dessert always tasted better after long evenings walking around Kaleiçi.
Where We Recommend:
Seraser Fine Dining
Even if you don’t come for a full meal, the desserts here are worth stopping for.
The courtyard atmosphere inside the old Ottoman-style building made the experience feel incredibly relaxed and romantic.
Final Thoughts
What we loved most about eating in Antalya wasn’t just the food itself — it was the pace of it.
Meals here feel slower, more social, and more connected to the atmosphere around you. Breakfast turns into late mornings, coffee breaks become long conversations, and dinners by the marina stretch late into the evening without anyone checking the time.
Antalya isn’t just a beach destination.
It’s one of those places where you genuinely remember the meals long after the trip ends.
