Taipei Signature: The Perfect 3-Day Itinerary by Travey Club
At first, it feels fast-paced and energetic — scooters rushing past, neon signs glowing above busy streets, locals lining up outside tiny food stalls before sunrise. But after a few days, you begin to notice something else entirely. The quiet temples hidden between modern buildings. The mountain views appearing behind the skyline. The calm riverside walks after chaotic night markets.
That balance is what makes Taipei special.
After exploring the city properly, we created what we genuinely believe is the perfect 3-Day Signature Taipei Itinerary — designed for travelers who want the best mix of food, culture, nature, and modern city life without feeling rushed.
Where We Recommend Staying

Before planning anything else, choosing the right area makes a huge difference in Taipei.
After exploring multiple neighborhoods, we genuinely think:
Ximending is the best base for a first-time Taipei trip.
Why?
Because everything feels easy here.
You’re connected to:
- MRT stations
- night markets
- cafés
- shopping streets
- restaurants
- airport transport
- late-night food spots
And most importantly, the area never feels boring.
Even after midnight, Ximending still feels alive.
Hotel We Recommend:
This ended up being one of our favorite stays in Taipei because it strikes the perfect balance between location, comfort, and atmosphere.
The rooms are modern and spacious, the location is unbeatable, and after long days exploring the city, it genuinely feels relaxing to come back here.
For a Signature Taipei itinerary, this is exactly the kind of base you want.
Day 1 — Taipei’s Culture, Skyline & Night Market Energy

Our first day in Taipei felt like the perfect introduction to the city.
We started slowly in Ximending, walking through quiet morning streets before the crowds arrived. Breakfast quickly became one of our favorite parts of Taipei — soy milk, crispy scallion pancakes, and local breakfast shops packed with residents grabbing food before work.
From there, we visited:
Lungshan Temple
This was one of the moments where Taipei really started to feel different from other major Asian cities.
Inside the temple, locals were praying, lighting incense, and quietly moving through centuries-old traditions while the modern city carried on outside. It felt authentic rather than performative — something we appreciated a lot.
Later in the day, we explored:
- Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
- Taipei 101 Observatory
- Xinyi District
But the real highlight?
Elephant Mountain at sunset.
Watching Taipei 101 rise above the skyline while the city slowly lit up beneath us became one of our favorite memories from the trip.
We ended the night doing what Taipei does best:
wandering through a night market eating absolutely everything we could find.
Day 2 — Jiufen & Shifen Day Trip

If there’s one day that feels almost magical near Taipei, it’s this one.
We started the morning in:
Shifen
The atmosphere here feels quieter and more local compared to central Taipei. Walking through the railway streets while lanterns floated into the sky felt surreal — even if it’s touristy, it still somehow feels special in the moment.
After exploring the waterfall and old streets, we headed toward:
Jiufen
And honestly, this place exceeded every expectation we had.
The narrow lantern-lit alleyways, tea houses overlooking the mountains, ocean views, and endless street food stalls made Jiufen feel cinematic. As evening arrived and the lanterns began glowing, the atmosphere completely changed.
This wasn’t just sightseeing anymore.
It felt like an experience.
We spent hours slowly wandering the streets with tea and snacks, not really wanting to leave.
If there’s one place near Taipei that deserves the hype, it’s Jiufen at night.
Day 3 — Taipei’s Creative & Historic Side

After two packed days, we wanted the final day to feel slower and more personal.
So we explored a different side of Taipei.
We started around:
Yongkang Street
One of our favorite neighborhoods for food and cafés.
This is where we finally had proper Taiwanese beef noodle soup — rich broth, tender beef, handmade noodles — the kind of meal that instantly becomes attached to your memory of a city.
From there, we explored:
- National Palace Museum
- Dihua Street
- Dadaocheng Riverside
- Songshan Cultural & Creative Park
What stood out most on this day was how layered Taipei feels.
One moment you’re walking through historic trading streets lined with tea shops and traditional medicine stores, and the next you’re inside modern art spaces and creative warehouses filled with designers and cafés.
Taipei somehow blends old and new better than almost any city we’ve visited.
We finished the trip with a relaxed riverside evening and one final dinner beneath the Taipei 101 skyline.
A pretty perfect ending, honestly.
Final Thoughts from Travey Club
Taipei surprised us in the best way possible.
It’s not just the food or the skyline or the night markets — it’s the atmosphere of the city itself. Taipei feels welcoming, easy to navigate, deeply cultural, and incredibly livable all at once.
Some cities are exciting.
Some are beautiful.
Some are relaxing.
Taipei somehow manages to be all three.
And after three days here, we completely understood why so many travelers end up wanting to return.
Because Taipei isn’t just a city you visit.
It’s a city you slowly connect with.
